Near the resort there was a cable car going up to one of the hills. It started in Oriental Village, which had a small hotel and a number of shops and restaurants. The cable car goes up to Langkawi' second highest mount at 708m. The ride is 2.2km long.

from the village this shows the route up a little more clearly. There is
one platform at the top of the centre peak and then a second higher one on the
hill above the first pylon. The cars take a left turn as you go up.
It is a fifteen minute ride all the way up.
