After traversing the pass we quite quickly lowered in altitude again, though of course none of this region is particularly low. As we did so the scenery changed once more to a sand valley area with the Shayok river approaching.
The line of the road from the pass is quiet visible here, the telecommunication tower for the army post can also be seen about a third of the way in from the left hand side of the picture
It took us a bout 30 minutes to reach this point so you can tell its not quick traveling.
Another quarter of an hour on and the pass is starting to become more distant.
Melt water flowing down.
Best not to look down sometimes.
