Home Indian Trips <<Previous Ladakh Next>>
Our longest day of travel was to go and see Pangong Lake, which is situated across the Indian Tibet border. Its only about 150 km from Leh but takes about 5 hours to get there and of course another 5 back. On the way we drove over Chang La, reputedly the third highest passable road in the world.
Again the trip on the road was very variable seeing all sorts of things along the way.

Here we had already passed one check point along the way but we were probably only about 40km from Leh, the road started to gain a lot of altitude at this point, you can see three levels of the road on the hill opposite us as well as the river in the valley.

This man had a small pack of horses following him on the road.
