Home Indian Trips <<Previous Ladakh Next>>
After staying at Uletokpo we set off in the morning towards Lamayuru Monastery, further west along the road to Kargil. Along the way we passed an area with some extraordinary rock formations even by the standards we had already seen. Locally they are referred to as the moonscape.
Just
an interesting shot en-route.
The
start of the formations, note the rounded and slightly paler outcrops near the
top of the picture.

The
gang all taking their pictures too.
Corrine, Anju, Toshie's eldest daughter, Lorraine and Belinda
And
what they were looking at, with the moonscape to our backs the Lamayuru
Monastery is in the distance, near the bottom of the right hand ridge.
