Prayer Flags

Prayer flags are another common feature of the Ladakhi landscape, being tied around Monasteries, Stupas and in other auspicious places. They have lucky signs and holy inscriptions printed on them and will be left in place until they gradually fall apart.  They are intended to carry the prayers of the faithful on the wings of the wind.
