After we left Lamayuru Monastery and headed back towards Leh we were halted on the road for no obvious reason, so we stopped and got out of the car to take a look.
And
so we waited and then....
Boom, the road was being blasted to widen it.

Everyone
looks on after the blast. The army oversees the work on the roads in the
region, hence the presence of the soldiers
After
about half an hour we move on through a rather dusty section of newly blasted
road.
