Passing through the Ganesh Pol you enter another courtyard with gardens and the private apartments of the royal family.
The apartments are quite unusual as they are decorated with many pieces of glass and mirrors imported from Europe.
As well as the glass additional decoration is provided by carvings and inlaid marble.
The mirrors meant that only a few candles were required to lit up the whole room.
This close up shows how the surfaces of the mirrors varied in angles. In the above photo both Andy and I are reflected.
