The Amber Fort - Jaleb Chowk

The Jaleb Chowk is an open courtyard which is the first part of the fort that you enter as you arrive on your elephant.  They walk around one side to drop you at anther raised platform.

From the courtyard you could also see an older fort situated on the hill behind.

After dropping Andy off from his side of the seat the elephant had to turn around before I could get off.  In the meantime she struck a pose for a photograph.

We then said hello to one of the elephants there at the time.  They have really tough skin.

Within the courtyard there were small outlets and entrances to other areas of the fort.  From here we took a route past a small Hindu temple dedicated to Kali and then walked up to a courtyard which included the Diwan-i-Aam and the Ganesh Pol.
