Chokhi Dhani

This was billed as a heritage village resort and hotel.  In the evenings part of the grounds is used as a mixture or Rajasthani fairground and restaurant.  There were a number of side shows including magicians, dancers, puppeteers, musicians and other performers demonstrating their arts.  You could also have rides on an ox drawn cart, camel or elephant.  There were even a couple of hand powered ferris wheels.  Once you had enjoyed all these activities you could then have an unlimited Rajasthan thali.  A thali is a mixed plate of food including, bread, rice, lentils, vegetables, pickles and sweets common across India.  All this for only 250 rupees ( about £3); a very enjoyable evening.

This lady had danced with this stack of pots on her head and then sat on the floor and bent down to pluck a note from the short wooden post in front of her.  And the pots stayed where they were!

Enjoying dinner, Andy was lent a turban by one of the waiters but it was probably a touch too small, very stylish though.
