In this village we saw example of Ahir Embroidery, the Ahirs are one of the tribal people of the region.
One
of the large panels of embroidery we were shown produced for herself.

A close up of the above piece.

We were then shown some of the work the lady makes for one of the local co-operatives in the region.
The co-operatives supply the materials and request what they want made. The ladies are then paid for their work. Many of these items are made into bags, cushion tops and wall hangings by others within the co-operative.
Such work gives independence to the women enabling them to work from home, utilizing skills that they already have.

generations from the same family. Above the door way is a torah or door banner
commonly used to decorate homes.
