The process of these prints requires a number of steps. The total will depend on the number of colours, but the cloth will be treated with resists to keep dye off areas and mordents to make the fabric take up dyes. Dyeing is carried out by immersing the fabric in vats of the colour. With this process it is also possible to print on both side of the design.
