Our hotel was right next to Miramar Beach, the closest beach, to the state capital Panaji. The beach is not next to the sea but along the estuary of the Mandovi River which runs by Panaji and Old Goa. The beach is large and while we were there some sort of preparations were taking place for a music festival (at least we think that was what it was for).
A view
from the road side towards the river.

The beach is very long.

Construction work taking place and a few days later they looked like this...

Nearer to
the road there were lots of palms that provided some welcome shade.
Like
some nuts?
Some
visitors enjoy the sea.

Cargo boats go up and down the river all day transporting ore to the larger ships on the horizon. You can see how the weight of the ore affects the level of the boats in the water, the one on the left is empty.

Boats weren't the only transport in use!
