Tiger Hill was about a half hour drive from Darjeeling and is set within a nature sanctuary. When we arrived we had to pay and entrance fee, dependant on where we wanted to observe from. At this stage we had no idea not knowing what we were going too so we went for one of the middle options the Deluxe viewing lounge at 30 rupees each (40p).

It turned out that we were on the first floor and we positioned ourselves at windows at the far left. It was quite cold so we were opening and closing the windows all the time to take our pictures.

The car park at the front soon filled up with cars as more people arrived. There must have been a couple of hundred people in the end.
These
are some of the tourists who were outside the building watching from
there. Well wrapped up against the cold.
