The animal that we saw the most of was the spotted deer also known as chital, it is also the commonest in India. They were generally in small groups and seemed fairly comfortable with the jeeps stopping and us looking at them from a discreet distance. Too much noise though tended to make them move off. It is one of the main prey for the tigers and leopards in the park.
The
markings of the deer help them to blend quite well against the grassland
terrain.

Behind these two deer there is also a peacock. The bird really only became obvious in the photograph. When I was taking the picture it looked like just a flash of green ,like a piece of fabric had been discarded in the grass.
