The Fort is still at the centre of Chennai and home to much of the State's civil service and administration offices. New buildings have still been constructed within the grounds. However there is still a museum and the old Church within the fort which we were able to look at.

The
interior of the Church, there were many memorial plaques for British soldiers
who died in various areas of east Asia, not just India. Many would always
appear to have been born out there.
